IS MEDICAL CANNABIS LEGAL IN CANADA?
Yes, medical cannabis is legal throughout Canada and has been since 2001. Currently, there are over 100 Licensed Producers certified by Health Canada who are permitted to sell and distribute medical cannabis to prescribed patients.
HOW OLD MUST I BE TO QUALIFY AS A PATIENT?
Patients need to be at least 18 years of age to receive a Medical Cannabis prescription. In some circumstances, persons under 18 can be provided access to Medical Cannabis under parental supervision.
HOW LONG IS MY PRESCRIPTION VALID FOR?
Prescriptions can vary in length from one month to one year.
CAN I TRAVEL WITH MY MEDICAL CANNABIS MEDICATION?
Yes, you can travel with your medication, however only within Canada and not internationally. If travelling by airplane it is generally recommended to check with the airline of choice before boarding the plane. If you are travelling with your medication, you can have as much as 30 times your daily prescription with a maximum amount of 150 grams.
WHAT CAN BE USED AS PROOF THAT I'M PERMITTED TO ACCESS MEDICAL CANNABIS?
Your Licensed Producer will provide you with a proof of prescription that you are permitted to access Medical Cannabis.
